Oki Hoyos

A Passion for Watercolors
From the age of 9, Oki Hoyos discovered that art would be his path. With an unwavering passion, he has dedicated his life to exploring watercolor, mastering its complexities and taking the technique to new dimensions. His training has been influenced by great masters, each contributing an essential element to his style. From Pito Campos he learned the power of explosions of color, from Vicente García the immensity of infinite and tortuous skies, and from Roberto Zangarelli the richness of urban landscapes. The intensity of Cesc Farré's stormy seas, Pablo Rubén's masterful control of water and Luis Cámara's precise synthesis have been fundamental in his artistic evolution.

Working with water
Oki Hoyos has worked with the wet-on-wet technique, achieving effects of movement and fluidity that give his works a unique energy. His work is characterized by exaggerated contrasts and plays of light that awaken intense emotions in the viewer. The spontaneity of water, combined with his expert control of color, allows him to create vibrant atmospheres, where each brushstroke seems to breathe a life of its own.

Transmitting emotion
Beyond technique, his art is an exploration of emotion and the ephemeral nature of watercolor. In each work, he seeks to capture fleeting instants, transforming water and pigment into scenes that evoke profound sensations. His bold and expressive approach turns each piece into an immersive visual experience, where light, color and composition intertwine in a harmonious dance.
Oki Hoyos not only paints, but translates into watercolor his own vision of the world, a universe full of dynamism, intensity and beauty.
